Meet Kristen

Kristen Johnson is an award-winning author and educator. She works as a psychology/sociology professor and has a small business brand photography studio.

She has dual Masters degrees- a MSN in Nursing Education, and a Master of Science degree in Applied Positive Psychology from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She studied photography through the New York Institute of Photography. Kristen has been a nurse for around a decade and has almost 15 years of experience working directly with patients in integrative health and wellness. She is always learning and consistently attends advanced trainings, certifications, and continuing education.

Her expertise has been featured in respected publications like WellSpa360, Skin Inc., Dermascope Magazine, and Beginnings Magazine through the AHNA. Kristen and Dr. Anako recently co-authored an article on nursing education for the Journal of Comprehensive Nursing Research and Care.

Kristen’s first book, the Waterwell Integrative Wellness Guide + Planning Journal, was published by Bradstone Books in 2023. A book of inner peace, curiosity, and depth, with a blend of influences from humanistic psychology, ancient wisdom, positive psychological interventions, and traditional nursing processes proven to enhance overall well-being. Soon after, Kristen established the Waterwell Center for Well-being, a passion project that works directly with educational institutions to nurture inner peace, alleviate stress, and enhance well-being through interactive skill discovery, comprehensive resources, and engaging content.
