  • Ruth Hans Scholarship

    Ruth Hans received her entry nursing education from the Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing and this award was established in her honor in 2006. The Ruth Hans Scholarship promotes lifelong learning and best practices in nursing by awarding an education scholarship to a Baccalaureate nursing student (BSN) in Maryland. This can include an RN licensed in Maryland who continuing his/her education in an RN to BSN nursing education program in Maryland. The recipient will exemplify academic achievement, leadership, and community service. The scholarship is for $500.

  • Maryland General Hospital School of Nursing Alumnae Association Education Scholarship

    The Maryland General Hospital School of Nursing Alumnae Association awards one scholarship of $1,000.00. Preference will be given to the student enrolled in an Associate Degree Nursing program. The recipient must demonstrate financial need in addition to academic achievement and community service.

  • Travis Nursing Scholarship

    The Travis Nursing Scholarship is being established to honor the memory of the mother of long-time MNA/ANA member, Patricia Travis, RN, PhD, CCRP. The recipient should be a student enrolled in a nursing program with an interest in promoting a seamless transition for end of life palliative care and home hospice. The beneficiary needs to exemplify academic achievement, leadership, and community service. The scholarship is for $500.

  • The Maryland Association of Associate Degree Nursing Directors (MAADND) Scholarship

    The Maryland Association of Associate Degree Nursing Directors (MAADND) Scholarship is awarded to an Associate Degree nursing student who demonstrates excellence in the art and science of nursing.  All Associate Degree nursing students who have completed 2 semesters in a Maryland nursing program will be eligible to apply for this $500 scholarship.

  • Shauna Parker Memorial Scholarship

    The Shauna Parker Memorial Scholarship was established by Sadie Parker, a NFM Trustee. The recipient of this scholarship will be a nursing student pursuing a BSN (Baccalaureate in Nursing) degree. The applicant needs to demonstrate academic achievement with a GPA of 3.0 or higher, be a resident of Maryland, and demonstrate community service. The recipient will be awarded $1,000.

  • The Arthur L. Davis Scholarship

    Art Davis established the Arthur L. Davis Publishing Company, the publisher of The Maryland Nurse. Now deceased, the business, now a part of Health eCareers, remains dedicated to supporting the nursing community. The Arthur L. Davis Scholarship was established in 2003. The scholarship will be awarded to one applicant in the amount of $1,000. The recipient must be pursuing a master's degree in nursing as part of the preparation to teach in a Maryland nursing program. The recipient will exemplify academic achievement, leadership, and community service. Applicants for this scholarship must be members of the Maryland Nurses Association.

  • Dr. Marye Dorsey Kellermann's Necessary Wellness Scholarship

    This $500 scholarship is sponsored by Dr. Marye Dorsey Kellermann, Trustee of the NFM and President of Educational Enterprises Inc., a provider of NECESSARY Workshops for faculty, RN/ NP students, hospitals, and universities. Educational Enterprises, Inc. is pleased to offer: The Dr. Marye Kellermann’s Educational Enterprises NECESSARY Wellness Scholarship for the promotion of wellness of any nursing student in Maryland.

    In addition to the basic eligibility criteria the nursing student must:

    Submit no more than a 250-word description about:

    1. Who you are as a student, family member, friend etc. (Use initials in the narrative, but include your contact information)

    2. Your definition of wellness and what will encourage it, in the workplace as a future RN.

    3. How you will use the $500.00 to promote your health.

  • Nursing Foundation of Maryland Scholarships

    The Nursing Foundation of Maryland awards a $1,000 scholarship to promote nursing education and improved patient outcomes. The recipient of this scholarship will be a Baccalaureate or Graduate nursing student in Maryland.

    This can include an Associate Degree prepared RN licensed in Maryland who is continuing his/her education in an RN to BSN education program in Maryland.

    The recipient will exemplify academic achievement, leadership, and community service. 

    In 2023, the NFM will award 3 (three) $1,000 scholarships.

    Two (2) scholarships will be awarded to Baccalaureate or Graduate nursing students in Maryland. This can include an Associate Degree prepared RN licensed in Maryland who is continuing his/her education in an RN to BSN education program in Maryland. The recipient will exemplify academic achievement, leadership, and community service. 

    One (1) $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to an individual pursuing an advanced degree in nursing education (this could also be a current faculty member obtaining a higher degree in education).

  • District 2 Scholarship

    This $1,000 scholarship is awarded by the MNA District 2 to an applicant enrolled in a Maryland School of Nursing who is a first-generation college student (the first in their immediate family to pursue a university degree, including grandparents, parents, and siblings) enrolled in a BSN program (can be an ADN articulation program) or an MSN pre-licensure program and are within one year of BSN or MSN graduation. The applicant is required to submit an essay of no more than 250 words describing how or why they chose to pursue a university degree as the first in their family.
